What It Actually Scores
Every Climbable rank is built from the same conditions climbers actually check for – modelled hour by hour, not just a daily average.
Sun and shade on the wall
True solar geometry by wall aspect, not just a compass label, hour-by-hour sun exposure, adjusted for cloud cover.
Rock dryness
Rain history, rock type, sun, wind, and drying time forecast hour by hour, so you know if the rock will be dry by the time you arrive.
Rain windows with timing
Only rain during actual climbing hours counts, a dawn shower that clears by 7am won't tank an otherwise dry day.
Relative humidity
Moist air hurts friction. Humidity is scored against each crag's own baseline, since ‘dry’ isn’t the same everywhere in Australia.
Wind vs. wall exposure
Wind direction matters as much as speed, the same forecast plays out differently on a wall that's exposed versus one sitting in valley.
Rare windows and trip planning
Forecasts are checked against 10-year climate norms to flag rare good days in a given season, and weekend or multi-day trips are scored by the worst day, not the average.
